Mr. Norman A. Scianna age 79, of Utica passed away on Saturday February 6, 2016 at the Masonic Care Community.

He was born in Utica on July 22, 1936 a son of the late Peter and Santina Trascritti Scianna and was educated in local schools graduating from TR Proctor High School. Norman continued his education at the University of Cincinnati School of Engineering. After receiving his engineering degree, he became a dedicated employee of the General Electric Co./Lockheed Martin for over 37 years, until his retirement. On October 31, 1964 he was married to Arlene Napoli in St. Anthony of Padua Church, a blessed union of 51 years.

Surviving are his beloved wife Arlene, one son Norman Scianna of Forestport; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laurie Anne Elder of AZ and Cynthia and Peter Arcuri of Central Square, NY; his beloved grandchildren Katrina Elder and Sophia and Juliana (Juju) Arcuri; one sister Roseanne Scianna of NY Mills; his in-laws Gus Napoli, Bernadette (Binnie) Cirmo, Rosemarie and Tony Arcuri and Sharon and Robert Braunlich and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Dominick Scianna and wife Bonnie, one nephew Louis Paladino and his father-in-law and mother-in-law August and Madelyn Napoli.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 3-6 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Prayer services will commence at the conclusion of visitation at 6:00 pm in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Kaminski officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Steven Swan Humane Society in Norman's memory.
