Patricia (Critelli) Calenzo

Patricia (Critelli) Calenzo, age 86, of Utica, passed away on Saturday April 5, 2025, at the Abraham Hospice House in Rome, NY with her loving children by her side.

She was born in Utica on July 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Dominick and Lena Esposito Critelli and was a 1955 graduate of TR Proctor High School. She continued her vocational studies attending the Utica Career Institute where she became a licensed beautician. On November 10, 1956, she was married to Anthony J. Calenzo in Mt. Carmel Church, a loving and blessed union of 66 years, until his passing on July 7, 2023.

Patti was a self-employed hairdresser having worked for many years at “A Touch of Class” hair salon, until her retirement. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her life centered around her family. They will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Denise Calenzo of New Hartford, and Robert ‘Bob” and Jerriann Calenzo of Utica; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laurie Ann Calenzo of Johnson City, NY and Lisa and Joseph Schiavetta of NC.; her cherished grandchildren Daniella Calenzo and husband John, Justina Calenzo and fiancée Mike, Mark Calenzo, Jr., Gary Cole, Matthew Calenzo, Nicholas Calenzo and wife Chloe, Anthony Calenzo and Lauren, and Sarah and husband Anthony “AJ” Schirripa; her beloved great grandchildren Giuliana Rose, Braden, Skylar, Chiara, Anthony and Jack and she was awaiting the birth of her great granddaughter Sophia; two sisters Gloria Giglio and Deanna Still; her in-laws Rosalie Camarra and Michael Calenzo and wife Margaret; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her dear friends Joe and Marilyn LaBarbara, Libbie Mack and Dawn and Simone.

She was predeceased by two brothers Louis (Leona) Critelli, Richard (Antoinette) Critelli, one sister Mary (Mike) Morice and brother-in-law Russell Giglio.

Visitation will be held this Thursday April 10th from 4-6 pm at The Scala, Roefaro & Karboski Funeral Home 1122 Culver Ave. Utica. Funeral prayer services will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 6:00 pm in the funeral home with the Chaplain Wally Plock officiating. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

The family extends a special Thank You to the caregivers at the Abraham House in Rome for their care and compassion given to Patricia and her family.
