Mrs. Philomena "Zammiello" Arciero, age 92, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday April 15, 2014 at St. Luke's HospitalCenter, with her loved ones by her side.
She was born in Utica on December 29, 1921 a daughter of the late Pasquale and Rosina Stiano Zammiello and was educated in local schools. On June 10, 1942 she was married to Philip Arciero, a blessed union of 68 years, until his death on August 13, 2010.
Philomena was employed for many years with the UNIVAC Corp. until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, and was a member of the St. Anthony's Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John.
Surviving are two beloved sons and daughters-in-law Anthony and Kathleen Arciero of Burr Ridge, Illinois, and Philip and Nancy Arciero of Orland Park, Illinois; one sister Nora Cieri of Utica; one brother and sister-in-law Frank and Gloria Zammiello of Utica; her cherished grandchildren Dante and Erin Arciero, Nicholas, Ryan and Mary Rose Arciero and several nieces, nephews, godchildren and dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Rose Lorraine Arciero in 1965.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:15 am from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. and at 10:00 am in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church. Private interment will be in CalvaryCemetery.
Visiting hours will be Friday afternoon from 3 to 6 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Care Community in memory of Philomena. Envelopes will be available.
