Raffaella “Babe” Centolella Nesci age 93, of New Hartford, passed away on Wednesday April 10, 2024, at the Masonic Care Community with the love of her family in her heart.
She was born in Utica, on October 17, 1930, a daughter of the late Michael and Modestine Inglese Centolella and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School. On September 4, 1954, she was married to the love of her life Joseph A. Nesci in Mt. Carmel Church, a loving and blessed union of 69 years, until his passing on September 3, 2023.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Knights of St. John Commandry # 385 and the Italian Heritage Club. Raffaella centered her life around her family, whom she loved dearly. They will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Surviving is her daughter Diane Colicci of PA.; two sons and daughters-in-law Joseph and Danielle Nesci of NJ and Vincent and Karen Nesci of New Hartford; her cherished grandchildren Michael and Lisa Nesci, Kayla Nesci and fiancé Aaron Mattice, Lindsey and Jamie Loy, Loni Babcock and Joel Kamilow, Nikolette Nesci, Robert and Jackie Rimmer, Heather Nesci and Gabrielle Nesci; nine great-grandchildren Michael, Jenna, Jaxen, Ethan, Kinsley, Rory, Bryce, Dante and Jasmine; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a special friend Catherine Sansoucy.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Lena Centolella, Ruth (Ed) Glatt, Dolores (James) Miller, Rose (Tony) Sinisgalli, and three brothers Thomas (Carmella) Centolella, Louis (Nicolena) Centolella and Fred Centolella, her son-in-law Angelo Colicci and her in-laws Frank (Frances) Nesci, Viola (John) Corletto and Nina (Mike) Onystk.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday April 20th at 1:30 pm in St. John Evangelist Church, New Hartford. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Raffaella. Envelopes will be available at the service.
