Raymond G. (Ray) LaComb

Mr. Raymond (Ray) G. LaComb, age 86, of Utica, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Faxton/St. Luke's HealthcareCenter after a short illness.

He was born on May 23, 1928 in Delhouise, Ontario, Canada, a son of the late Leo and Alida (Compeau) LaComb, and was educated in Massena, NY.

On April 18, 1953, he was joined in marriage to Antoinette (Toni) Coletti in St. Anthony's Church, a blessed union of 61 years.

Ray proudly served the US Navy on the USS Hamner before his honorable discharge in 1950. He was employed by the Dept of Defense as a Contract Administrator for the Defense Logistics Agency at the General Electric Co. until his retirement in 1976.

He was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church, a member of the Knights of St. John #385, and the past VP and Secretary of the Holy Name Society. Ray loved to spend time with his wife eating out, taking bus trips, or traveling to the JerseyShore to visit his nephew Louis Coletti and his wife Janet and their two sons Jim and Joe. He also enjoyed spending time with friends playing golf or visiting Turning Stone Casino.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife Toni, loving daughter Maryann Moore of Utica, loving son David and his wife Mary Stokes of Clifton Park, NY; cherished granddaughter Kelly Marie Moore and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Gerald LaComb, one sister Pauline Tedesco, his son-in-law Jeffery Moore, brothers-in-law Ernest, Joseph, Robert and Gordon Coletti and sister-in-law Jean (Coletti) Coluzzi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Anthony/St Agnes Church. The Knights of St. John will assemble for Mass at 9:30 am. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the mass in church.

There will be no public visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Ray in a special way are asked to send donations to the Monsignor Carl J. Denti Foundation, Knights of St. John #385 (Administrator), PO Box 4035, Utica NY 13504.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Faxton/St. Luke's HealthcareCenter for their gentle care of both Ray and his family.
