Rita (Neri) Fumarola age 93, passed away on Friday April 21, 2023, at the Masonic Care Community with her beloved family by her side.
She was born in Utica on April 13, 1930, a daughter of the late Ralph and Carmella Zasa Neri and was a graduate of UFA High School. On May 26, 1951, she was married to Anthony N. Fumarola in Mt. Carmel Church, a blessed union of 51 years until his passing on March 12, 2003. Rita was employed with the Central New York Abstract Co. for several years, until her retirement. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose life centered around her family. They will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law Anita and Stanley Fernalld Jr. of Frankfort, Carmelita and James Raymer of Utica; four sons and daughters-in-law Peter and Linda Fumarola of Frankfort, Anthony Jr. and Selma Fumarola of Holland Patent, Richard Fumarola of England, and Vincent and Lourdes Fumarola of Frankfort; 18 grandchildren; Rocco and Melissa Fernalld, Stanley III. (Bucky) and Dina Fernalld, Joseph Durse, Adana Durse, James and Cristina Raymer, Anthony and Brittany Fumarola, Peter Fumarola, Nick and Candace Fumarola, Mary Fumarola, Anthony Fumarola and Katelyn Masullo, Alexandria and Kyle Florczyk, Thomas Fumarola, Chelsea Fumarola, Courtney Fumarola, Caprice Fumarola, Chanelle Fumarola, Alyssa and Mike Flo, Vincent Fumarola Jr., and Alexis Labella, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers Sal, Ralph and Richard Neri and two sisters, Mary Raspante and Louise Sbarra.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
