Mrs. Rose Marie (Casab) Korrie, age 80, of Utica passed away after a brief illness on Monday October 3, 2016 at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Utica on September 15, 1936 a daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Astour) Casab. She was educated in local schools having graduated from UFA. On July 4, 1961 she was united in marriage with John Korrie at St. Basil's Melkite Catholic Church, a blessed union of 55 years. Rose Marie worked at Oneida National Bank and was an election inspector for many years. Her greatest enjoyment came from the time she spent with her loving family. Rose Marie and John spent the summers at their camp in Sylvan Beach and the winters in Palm Springs, Florida. She was a loving, kind, and compassionate woman who will be greatly missed by her beloved family, but never forgotten.

Surviving are her husband John; one daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Kenneth Coe of Canastota; one son Kenneth Korrie of Utica; her cherished grandchildren Amanda, Brittany, and Kenneth Coe; Kyle Korrie and his mother Liz Korrie; her siblings and best friends, Shirley Casab and George Casab, both of New Hartford; her in-laws Joe and Anne Korrie, Anthony Korrie, Louie Korrie, Pat and MaryLou Korrie, George and Phyllis Korrie and Sal Benincasa and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; many close friends, too many to mention. She was predeceased by her sisters-in-law Catherine Bolecek, Ann Benincasa, and Florence Korrie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Her funeral Mass will be held on Friday morning at 10:30 am at St. Basil's Melkite Catholic Church, with the Rev. Saba Shofany officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Stroke Unit at Upstate Medical University. Envelopes will be available.
