Rose (DiSalvo) Starer, age 81, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday March 11, 2025, at her home with the love of her family in her heart.
She was born in Bagheria, Province of Palermo, Sicily, Italy on February 22, 1944, a daughter of the late Joseph and Girolama Tripoli DiSalvo. Rose and her family immigrated to the US and Utica many years ago. She graduated from UFA High School and Utica College of Syracuse University. At one time Rose was married to Stuart Starer.
In her early years Rose was an Auditor for the Federal Government. She then transitioned into the Real Estate sector where Rose became an entrepreneur owning, rehabbing and selling all types of real estate, until her retirement.
Surviving are her sister Anna (DiSalvo) Leonard and husband Steven of MA.; her niece Renee Leonard of MA., and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Girolama (Mamie), her brother Paul DiSalvo and her longtime companion Charles Hamilton.
All are welcome to attend her Mass of Christian Burial this Saturday March 15, 2025, at 12:00 noon in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. Private entombment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery Mausoleum.
