Mrs. Sara Williams Cozza, age 75, of Utica passed away on Saturday January 4, 2014 at St. Lukes Hospital Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Utica on November 23, 1938 a daughter of the late David and Mary Mulvihill Williams and was educated in local schools.
On June 24, 1958, she was married to Daniel Cozza in Utica, a blessed union of 48 years, until his passing in 2007.
Sara was employed for many years as the district manager for Bob's Old Fashion Ice Cream Co. Her most recent employment was with the UticaCitySchool District, until her retirement.
Sara had a passion for gardening, crafts, and decorating, which was abundantly displayed in her home and beautiful landscaping. Sara also enjoyed helping friends and family with her decorating abilities. It brought Sara great joy to open her home to all of her friends and family. She also was gifted in the art of ceramics, where she taught many classes. But Sara's true passion in life was for her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Surviving are her beloved daughter Loriann Cozza, three beloved sons Albert Cozza and Lois Elefante, Daniel Cozza Jr., and David and his wife Sabrina Cozza; her cherished grandchildren Paul Daniel Cozza, Mariesa Rose Cozza and her mother Mary Terese Sardina, Samantha and Josh Austin and their daughter Jaida, and Todd Cozza; three brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Jan Williams, Donald and Judy Williams, James and Mary Williams; four sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Ellen and Al LaGray, Joan and Jake Vine, Sue Kratzenburg and Ann Rose; her in-laws Ruth and John P. Fanelli and many special and beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved son Paul Cozza in 2001; her in-laws Mary and Frank Tomaino, Caroline and John Kukla, John and Ann Cozza, David and Josephine Cozza and Paul and Rose Cozza.
Her funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 am from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. and at 11:00 am in Our Lady of LourdesChurch. Private interment will be in St.AgnesCemetery.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Timothy LaFont, the staffs at Faxton-St.LukesHospital and the SitrinRehabilitationCenter for the care and compassion that was shown.
