Shawna Marie (Berge) Ricci, age 45, went to be with the Lord on Friday May 26, 2017, with her loving family by her side, after over a year battle with cancer.

She was born on May 23, 1972 in New Hartford, NY, the daughter of Brian C. Berge and Christine J. Lindsey (Robilotto-Berge). She was predeceased by her loving step-father Edward J. Lindsey and fathers-in-law Ronald Ricci and Joseph Lewis; also predeceased by grandparents Rocco and Dorothy Robilotto, Anthony Rocco, Sr., Edward and Mary Jane Lindsey and Edward and Rachel Berge.

Shawna attended Whitesboro High School where she met the love of her life, Bryan Ricci. Shawna and Bryan married on June 22, 1996 and God blessed them with four beloved children, Bryan Jr. (Cortnee Howe), Joshua, Bianca and Chloe; her cherished granddaughter Averey; her mother Christine Lindsey; her mother-in-law Linda Lewis; grandmother Mary Rocco; her brother Steven Berge and wife Melissa; two sisters Stacey LaRocque and husband Michael and Cheri Lindsey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ronald and Stacie Ricci; step sisters-in-law and step brothers-in-law, Laurie and Pat Maglione and Richard and Michelle Lewis; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Shawna was a very caring, loving human being with a smile that would light up a room. She enjoyed going to Bryan and Joshua's motorcross races and going to Joshua's MMA fights and Bianca and Chloe's cheer competitions. She lived her life to watch her children fulfill some of their dreams. She loved her trips to Florida where her family lived. Shawna really enjoyed working at Michael T's Restaurant for the past 20 years, where she enjoyed the closeness of her co-workers and where she made many friends. She touched many people's lives and they loved her.

I would like to give a special thank you to my mother-in-law, Christine who moved in with us 10 months ago to take care of Shawna. Without you we could never have stayed strong. I will love you forever for this. And to my brother Ron, thank you for everything you have done for Shawna and our family during these hard times. Also, a sincere thank you to all the family and friends for their support. It has been overwhelming with all the great people around us. Shawna the first time I laid eyes on you back in 11th grade, I fell in love with you immediately. We had 27 A½ years together and I wouldn't trade that for anything. I already miss you and I will love you forever, Bryan.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 5-8 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday morning at 10:30 am in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
