MOODUS- Timothy James Batson, age 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the comfort and dignity of his daughter’s home.
He was born on December 10, 1962, in Stamford, CT, son of Joseph D. and Janet (Fallon) Batson. Tim graduated from high school in Ontario, Canada and went on to attend Niagara University. On October 9, 2005, he married the love of his life, Catherine O’Callaghan in Manchester, CT, a blessed union of 18 years.
Tim was a consummate salesman his entire life. From the early 2000’s he could be found at Manchester Honda, a job he loved, where he was well regarded by all; they were like his second family.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and loyal friend to many. An avid golfer, Tim loved to spend time with his friends out on the links as often as he could. He was an avid New York Giants fan… even when they were losing.
Tim and Cathy found love again and again with each other. From their trips to Florida, to family trips on Cape Cod, to the many concerts they attended together (Bon Jovi, Van Halen and Journey to name a few), they were best friends.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Cathy; his daughter, Tia (Justin) Smith; grandchildren Wyatt, Jameson, Eleanor, Makenzie, and Camden; stepdaughter, Amanda (Stephen Jr.) Karboski and granddaughter Reese Margaret; his parents, Joseph and Janet Batson; sisters Laura (Chet) McGill, Meg Batson (Matt Tabinor), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 3 PM – 5 PM at the Ahern Funeral Home 111 Main Street, Unionville, CT. A brief prayer service will close visitation.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Tim’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and the Connecticut Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The Batson family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Vitas Healthcare and Athena Care at Home Service for their care and compassion during a difficult time.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of his son-in-law, Stephen Karboski of Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home and the Ahern Funeral Home.
