Tonya Lynn Guenther Godkin

Tonya Lynn Guenther Godkin, age 29, passed away unexpectedly on Friday March 5, 2021 at Rome Memorial Hospital with the love and support of her family.

She was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 4, 1991 and was the daughter of Kevin and Tammy Tobin Godkin. Tonya was a graduate of T.R. Proctor H.S. Class of 2010. She also attended Utica School of Commerce. Tonya was currently employed with Bank of America as a customer relations specialist. Tonya was a loving and caring daughter, mother, sister & friend. Tonya's greatest joy came from caring for her beloved daughters, Eliana & Audrey. Tonya also enjoyed cooking, going to the beach, swimming, camping, & she had a special talent for artwork and playing the piano. Her family & friends will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Surviving are her two loved and cherished daughters Eliana Marie and Audrey Lynn; her beloved parents Kevin and Tammy Godkin of Utica; her dear brother Joshua A. Hayes, neices and nephew of WI.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She also leaves behind her grandmother Lillian Lawler of Utica. Tonya was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Joan and Gerald Godkin & her maternal grandfather Paul Tobin.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-6 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave.  Funeral services will be at the conclusion of visitation at 6:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Seth McCoy officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. All COVID protocols will be required, face masks, social distancing, and trace signing. Please be patient as we are operating at a reduced capacity with only ten people allowed in as ten people leave. The family would also like to extend a Thank You to the staff of  Bank of America Horatio St. for all their kindness, support & consideration offered to Tonya during her employment there. Tonya's family would also like to thank the Rome F.D., Rome P.D. & the staff of Rome Memorial Hospital for the care & compassion given to Tonya & family during this difficult time. By family request please omit flowering offerings.
