Mrs. Vincenza Costantino, age 92 of Utica, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at the Masonic Care Community with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Sicily, Italy on March 30, 1922 a daughter of the late Antonio and Giuseppa Vaccaro Di Miceli. She was married to Giuseppe Costantino in 1951 in Italy, a blessed union of 3 years, until his untimely death in 1954. Vincenza always remained faithful in her love for her husband for the past 60 years, until her passing.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Vincenza is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law Frank and Joann Costantino of Utica; her cherished grandchildren Lisa and James Hyatt of New Hartford and Joseph Costantino of Utica; her beloved great-grandchildren Vincent and Cecilia Hyatt and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 5:00 -6:30 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral services will be at the conclusion of visitation at 6:30 pm with the Rev. James Cesta officiating. Private entombment will be in the PinelawnMemorial Park, Farmingdale, NY.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of the Westchester Unit at the Masonic Care Community for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Care Community in memory of Vincenza. Envelopes will be available.
