Vladimir Vodanovic, age 85, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 30, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born on December 6, 1938, in Bosnia, a son of the late Franjo and Maria Butter Vodanovic and was educated there. While in Bosnia Vladimir was an accountant by trade having worked for several big corporations, before he and his wife immigrated to America in 2000, settling in Utica.
In1961, in Bosnia, he was married to Gordana Vasiljevic, a loving and blessed union of 50 years until her passing on April 21, 2011.
Vladimir loved to do carpentry work as his hobby and was also an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
Surviving are his daughter Suzana Vodanovic-Jovanovic of FL., her son and daughter-in-law Mario and Adina Vodanovic of Utica; his beloved grandchildren Bojan and wife Stephanie, Rastko, Emma and Erik; two sisters Branka and Vesna and one brother Josip.
Visitation will be held this Friday Oct. 4th from 4-6 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica. Funeral prayer services will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 6:00 pm in the funeral home.
Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery next to his beloved wife Gordana
