Mr. William “Billy” Conley age 61, of Utica, passed away on Sunday November 21, 2021 with his beloved family by his side at the Abraham House in Rome, NY.
He was born in Utica on March 8, 1960 a son of the late William and Floridea (Florence) Giacovelli Conley and was educated in local schools. On August 23, 1991 he was married to Karla Abraham in Blessed Sacrament Church. Billy was in the restaurant business his entire life, beginning in the early days at Mr. Pasta, then becoming co-owner of the Prime-Time Tavern in E. Utica for many years. He then endeavored into Oscugnizzo Pizzeria in Washington Mills and then expanding to Oscugnizzo Pizzeria in Clinton, a legacy he leaves to his daughters. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Surviving are his wife Karla; two beloved daughters Laura Rose Conley and Alexandra “Bootz” Conley; his cherished grandson Oliver, who was his “Best Friend” and the “Love of his Life” and daily sidekick. His love for Oliver held no boundaries; he also leaves his sisters and brothers-in-law Betsy and Vito Sinisgalli of New Hartford and Deborah and Pat Marino of FL.; his loving Aunt Leonora DeKime who was a second mother to Billy; his father-in-law Byron “Todd” Abraham; brother-in-law Byron Abraham, sister-in-law Tricia Abraham; his nieces and nephews Nicholas, Vito, Victoria and Angelo Sinisgalli and Michelle and Mike Verdon; his special cousins John DeKime, Jr. and Lisa Leone; and many cousins and dear friends, especially his lifelong “Best friends”, Steven “Chops” Burline, Sam Scampone, Jr. and Joseph “D-Man” Testa. He was predeceased by his mom and dad and uncle John DeKime Sr, his mother-in-law Rosemary Abraham, and dear friend Philip “Frato” Frate.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-6 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral service prayers will commence at the conclusion of visitation at 6:00 pm.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Abraham House in Rome for their care and compassion given to Bill and his family during this difficult time.
